Rational approach to pharmaceutical formulation: from active ingredient to drug.

In this lecture we will explain the role of the formulator in the development of a drug and what studies he has to carry out in order to transform an active ingredient into a drug. We will also present the contribution of isothermal calorimetry techniques, developed in our laboratory, as an investigative tool for solving complex, time-consuming and tedious problems in pharmaceutical development.
